Francesca Lee has always created haunting and endearing music. However, it is not surprising if you have not heard of her. Some may call her San Francisco’s best kept secret. Even now as you are reading this chances are she is performing amongst the smoke of a dimly lit bar, coffee house, or small club in San Francisco. Maybe you’ve spotted her in Texas or maybe somewhere in Northern England. Her constant travels are not far from surprising for this songwriter. Her songs often portray restlessness of the soul. Her songs evoke jazz influenced indie pop that is cinematic, confessional, personal and hypnotic in its delivery. Accordingly, her newest release titled “Paper Hearts” combines these elements as the singer/songwriter unleashes her first full-length album to be released nationally in 2009.
